This standard specifies the product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, labeling, packaging, transportation, storage, and safety of formic acid for industrial use.
This standard is applicable to industrial formic acid produced by methyl formate method and sodium formate method.
The use of physical and chemical titration method to determine the content of formic acid in the national standard has the following drawbacks:
Long analysis time, low efficiency, unable to meet the needs of industrial production testing
Requires a large amount of chemical reagents, pollutes the environment, and is not environmentally friendly
Affects the health of laboratory personnel
It is not easy to determine the purity of formic acid by gas chromatography, as formic acid has strong activity, low sensitivity, peak tailing, and corrodes the instrument. To this end, Haohan Chromatography (Shandong) Application Technology Development Co., Ltd. has developed a new technology called "Industrial Formic Acid Purity Determination New Technology Chromatographic Column" using a new method. It can directly inject samples to determine the purity of industrial formic acid without the need for sample conversion, with high efficiency and short analysis time.
